The late great and legendary Jack Buck remarked, one of his many great calls, October 26th, 1991 following a dramatic homerun by Kirby Puckett in the Bottom of the 11th Inning to extend the World Series to a 7th and deciding game. Minnesota would win the following night 1-0 in 10 Innings thanks to a brilliant complete game pitching performance by Jack Morris. The 2002 World Series has now gone to a 7th Game provided by the Anaheim Angels 6 run rally in the 7th and 8th innings Saturday night in a Game 6 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The last 7 Game 7 winners in the WS have been the home team. The list: Minnesota twice ('87 and '91), Florida ('97), Arizona ('01), Kansas City ('85), New York Mets ('86) and St. Louis ('82). The last road team to win were the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates defeating the Baltimore Orioles, "we are family, I got all my sisters with me" flashback there, although I was 1 at the time. Anyway, hopefully this game 7 will be very competitive, close, full of drama and please pitch to Bonds or throw the ball at him for staring down his HR's, take him down a notch. Should be a good one.
