Joe DiMaggio hitting streak record watch continues........
Albert Pujols extended his hitting streak to 30 games Saturday night at Philadelphia.

In the 30 games Pujols is batting .388 with 21 of his 45 hits (47%) being for extra bases. That includes 8 HR's, 12 doubles and 1 triple. He has extended the streak in his final at bat 5 times. The streak began on July 12th against San Diego when he went 3 for 5 including the GW HR in the 11th.

The following day, against SD, in his 1st at bat, he was hit by a pitch by Adam Eaton. The bad blood between the teams had extended from the previous night when Pujols had stared down his HR. Pujols got into a scuffle with Padres catcher Gary Bennett and was ejected. No official at bats were recorded. Pujols has continued the streak ever since. On his way to breaking Joe DiMaggios 56 game mark.
