NFL Playoffs
In a rematch of the 1996 AFC Championship Game the Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Boston, Mass. to face the defending world champion New England Patriots. 10 years ago the Jaguars made an immaculate run through the Playoffs. A mad dash to the Super Bowl that was stopped cold at Foxboro Stadium. The Jaguars won 5 straight to end the regular season and barely snuck into the playoffs at 9-7. In the Wild Card round, they knocked off the Bills in Buffalo 30-27 on a Mike Hollis doink in off the upright for what would be the GW Field Goal. They knocked off the Top Seeded Denver Broncos 30-27 in the Divisional Round. They travelled to Boston for the AFC Title game and lost to the Patriots ending their mad dash to the Super Bowl. Here now are the Jaguars with the only remaining player from that '96 Jaguars team being WR Jimmy Smith. He's still there!!!!! 10 Years later and it seems like it was only yesterday. That Jaguars-Bills game wasn't even televised here, I listened as the Bills season ended. The Bills haven't won a playoff game since 1995! They trashed the Dolphins that day, I remember in a Wild Card matchup, the Bills then lost at Pittsburgh 40-21 in the Divisional Round. The Steelers then defeated the Colts 20-16 in the AFC Title game and then Neil O'Donnell threw Super Bowl XXX to the Dallas Cowboys. He handed Larry Brown the easiest Super Bowl game MVP in the history of sports. If the Bills had defeated the Steelers they would have won the whole damn thing!!!! They would have hosted the AFC Championship game being the #3 seed, the Colts the #5, who had knocked off the Top Seeded Kansas City Chiefs who were in the midst of blowing chances at the Super Bowl in successive years as the Top Seed in the AFC. The Bills would have won Super Bowl XXX!!!!! Anyway, the Jaguars-Patriots game should be a good 1 with the Patriots winning on a Doug Flutie DROP KICK!!!!!!!!!
