Observations
In what looked to be a rather lackluster schedule heading into this Saturday transformed to another tremendous day of college football. Starting off, the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated Minnesota 45-21 finishing their season at 12-1 and 8-0 in the Big 10, they hadn't accomplished the latter since 1922. Hey Strom Thurmond may have some stories to tell. Iowa will be in a BCS Bowl, most likely the Rose while National Championship aspirations and a trip to Tempe for the Fiesta Bowl remain. Ohio State, meanwhile, continued their weekly houdini act, escaping with a 23-16 victory over Illinois in Champagne. The luck will run out against Michigan next week high noon Saturday at the horse shoe as they call it in Columbus, Ohio........Oklahoma clobbered Baylor 49-9 as every competent team has done. Texas did just that last week while this Saturday they were on the losing end against Texas Tech 42-38. TT QB Kliff Kingsbury was fuckin' wired, passing for 473yds with 6 TD passes. Texas Tech visits Oklahoma next week in what will be the south division title game, I'd love to see the Red Raiders upend the Sooners throwing a wrench in the BCS and the Big 12........Oh didn't want to leave out Syracuse, following their thrilling win over Virginia Tech last week, they promptly went out and lost big 41-20 at Boston College........Penn dismantles Harvard 44-9 in Ivy league title game.
